DIANE BLACKMON

FILMMAKER AND DIRECTOR

With an entertainment industry career spanning over 3  decades, beginning as the first female Broadcasting Engineer in California. The Bay Area native's skills, talent and education landed her broadcasting, and engineering executive positions, at NBC, San Francisco, CBS in Philadelphia and legendary powerhouse radio station  KSOL-FM in San Francisco. 

Later to partner with veteran radio broadcaster, Lee Bailey, in Los Angeles, together they created the largest Black-owned radio media, syndication companies in the country spanning 20 years.

Before Entertainment Tonight's  debut the duo would develop, create and coin the model, for modern day "entertainment news", a format now widely used through-out  the industry. 

Award winning radio and media properties, included, RadioScope, "the entertainment magazine of the air," (125+ USA Markets ) Hip Hop Countdown & Report,  Gospel Insider, Black University Radio Network ( 50 + USA Markets) multi award-winning, King From Atlanta to the Mountain Top,  Marvin Gaye, We Miss You Documentary.

Ms. Hill practices the Kemetic Philosophy of "Know Thyself"  as she researches the true lineage of her indigenous ancestry. Her journey has united her and Diane Blackmon as a force to bring this film to fruition. Ms. Hill dedicates and offers her skills and talents as an Indigenous Woman to share the truths of who we really are as the "Principle People" to all who are seeking this information!  Ms. Hill is grateful to Diane Blackmon-Bailey for  allowing her to be a part of this important film!

Founder of the Institute of Fine Braidery Arts, (IFBA) which opened in Leimert Park in 1990.  The institute's mission and focus are on cultural awareness related to hair care practices.  Education and Certification in natural hair grooming using styling techniques practices for thousands of years.  Granting Indigenous Women training, and services in alternatives to chemicals and other harmful hair grooming processes for over 30 years.  Ms. Carter has trained hundreds of Stylists in how to start their own hair care and grooming businesses throughout the United States, Jamaica, the Bahamas, and Cuba.
